Our mission at Wooden Nickel Press is to publish books that exhibit an original and inspired connection between storytelling and fine art. Each book created through Wooden Nickel Press has some aspect of collaboration within the pages. We believe we must involve ourselves with others to evolve the art of developing books worth reading. We support artists and authors who create work that reflect our purpose to develop imagination, intuition and interconnectedness – what we refer to as the three, all-seeing I’s.
The name Wooden Nickel Press comes from the creative trade of souvenir money that was used around the 1930s as advertisements or keepsakes from carnival and fair events. It also derives from the old American adage, Don’t take any wooden nickels, which is considered a lighthearted reminder to listen to your instincts.
